Côte d’Ivoire Poro Power green bond financing receives international recognition
In a statement dated 22 October, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) announced that the financing of the Poro Power solar project and its role as arranger had received recognition at the Infra Global ESG Awards 2026. The 66 MW plant, under construction near Korhogo, benefits from €65 million raised through a green bond denominated in euros and CFA francs with African investors. AFC states that it invested €43 million in February 2026 and expects the plant to enter service in 2027; the statement concerns recognition of the transaction rather than a new financing commitment.
