25 May 2010 A huge windpower project in Cape Verde has just received financing of 18.6 million Dollars from the African Development Bank. A mixed company formed by the State of Cape Verde and the companies Electra and InfraCO will be in charge of seeing this project through. The performance specifications include the construction of wind farms on the islands of Santiago, Sao Vicente, Sal, and Boavista, as reported by the PANA agency. Altogether, the wind farms will have a total capacity of 28 megawatts. Cape Verde is benefiting from development based on eco-tourism and its own energy resources.…
