23 July 2012 La Banque mondiale a accordé un prêt de 35 millions de dollars au Bénin afin de financer le Programme régional pour les infrastructures de communication en Afrique de l'Ouest. Il a pour objectif de contribuer à l'augmentation de la portée géographique des réseaux de large bande et à la réduction des coûts des services de communication au Bénin, indique le communiqué de la Banque mondiale repris par l'agence de presse Xinhua. The Phase 3 Group has signed an agreement with the Electricity Community of Benin for the development of high-speed Internet. With this contract, Phase 3 will be operating one of the largest fibre optic networks in West Africa. 12 April 2011 Benin's minister for Energy, Sacca Lafia, announced last Thursday that the government intended to raise the rural electrification rate from renewable energy from its present three percent to 50 percent by 2025. 24 May 2011 The West African Development Bank (WADB) has granted a loan of 11.3 million dollars to Benin in order to contribute to the funding of a road infrastructure project. 20 April 2010 The African Development Bank (ADB) has lent a package of 49.4 million Dollars to Benin in order to finance a project for upgrading the key highway linking Ndali-Nikki-Chicandou to the Nigerian border.
