On September 10-11, 2009, the African Development Bank hosted a meeting of ICA members in Tunis to discuss the ICA Strategic Business Plan and ICA Communications Strategy elaborated by the ICA Secretariat for the period 2010-2012.

In their meeting on 11 May 2009, African finance officials, power project developers and representatives from global financial institutions agreed that in the current economic environment it was more important than ever for African countries to bring about reforms that make their power sectors more attractive to investment by the private sector.
ICA will host a meeting of its Public-Private Infrastructure Working Group in Dakar on 11 May 2009. The event, held in conjunction with the US Treasury and the African Development Bank (AfDB), will take place just before the African Development Bank’s annual meetings.
The organisation that works to enhance and accelerate the development of Africa’s infrastructure is to hold its annual meeting on 10-11 March 2009 – with the impact on Africa of the international financial crisis a key issue on the agenda.
The global financial and economic crisis is certain to have implications for the availability of finance for infrastructure development in Africa, but, with determination, the challenges faced can be overcome.
