<p class="bodytext">Le coordinateur g&eacute;n&eacute;ral de la Soci&eacute;t&eacute; EDG (Electricit&eacute; de Guin&eacute;e), Abdoulaye K&eacute;ita, a proc&eacute;d&eacute; le 11 mai dernier dans le quartier de Tombo &agrave; Kaloum en Guin&eacute;e &agrave; la pose de la premi&egrave;re pierre d&#39;une nouvelle centrale thermique.</p><p class="bodytext">Elle s&#39;inscrit dans le cadre d&#39;un vaste programme d&rsquo;am&eacute;lioration de la desserte en &eacute;lectricit&eacute; du pays, qui comprend plusieurs chantiers de construction de centrales de r&eacute;seaux &eacute;lectriques, rapporte le site Aminata.com.</p><p class="bodytext">Financ&eacute; &agrave; hauteur de 145 millions de dollars par le budget national de d&eacute;veloppement (BND), ce projet portera essentiellement la centrale de Kip&eacute; (50 MW), la centrale de Tombo1 (24 MW) et la centrale de Tombo 2 (26 MW).</p><p class="bodytext">L&#39;objectif est d&#39;am&eacute;liorer la desserte en courant &eacute;lectrique &agrave; Conakry et progressivement &agrave; l&#39;int&eacute;rieur du pays gr&acirc;ce &agrave; une adjonction thermique d&#39;une capacit&eacute; totale de 100 MW.</p><p class="bodytext">Le projet devrait ensuite se tourner vers la construction de barrages hydro-&eacute;lectriques, a pr&eacute;cis&eacute; Abdoulaye Ke&iuml;ta, cit&eacute; par l&#39;agence de presse Ecofin.</p>]]></content:encoded><pubDate>Thu, 17 May 2012 00:00:00 +0100</pubDate></item><item><title>Nigerian govt announces funding for new energy project</title><link>http://www.icafrica.org/fr/news/infrastructure-news/article/nigerian-govt-announces-funding-for-new-energy-project-3181/</link><guid>http://www.icafrica.org/fr/news/infrastructure-news/article/nigerian-govt-announces-funding-for-new-energy-project-3181/</guid><content:encoded><![CDATA[

<p class="bodytext">The Nigerian federal government has confirmed that it has endorsed significant levels of investment in key areas of the country&#39;s economy, This Day has reported.</p><p class="bodytext">Olusegun Aganga, the Nigerian minister for trade and investment minister, explained that the deal the government has reached with Glencore, worth N155 billion, will be used in infrastructure and other areas.</p><p class="bodytext">These include mining and energy in Nigeria, according to Mr Aganga. <p class="bodytext">L&rsquo;Agence fran&ccedil;aise de d&eacute;veloppement a accord&eacute; jeudi dernier un pr&ecirc;t de 78,9 millions de dollars au Cameroun afin de participer au financement de la construction du barrage hydro&eacute;lectrique de Lom-Pangar, rapporte Cameroon Tribune.</p><p class="bodytext">Situe &agrave; l&#39;Est du pays, le projet comprend un barrage, une usine hydro&eacute;lectrique de 30 MW et une ligne haute tension de 110 km.</p><p class="bodytext">L&#39;objectif est de soutenir le d&eacute;veloppement &eacute;conomique du pays et d&rsquo;am&eacute;liorer consid&eacute;rablement l&rsquo;acc&egrave;s &agrave; l&#39;&eacute;lectricit&eacute; de cinq millions de personnes. <p class="bodytext">The Nigerian minister for aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, has announced that the government will award a construction contract for a new airport in the capital city of Abuja.<br /><br /> There are a number of airport construction and improvement projects going on around Nigeria at present, with the government hoping that the work will ultimately help to stimulate the domestic economy.<br /><br /> Princess Oduah confirmed that the new airport in Abuja will adjourn the current international airport, Daily Trust has reported.<br /><br /> &quot;What we are doing goes beyond remodeling of the airports, we are actually doing restructuring and reconstructing of the airports,&quot; Princess Oduah commented.<br /><br /> &quot;We have started to go round the airport. <p class="bodytext">The Kenyan government has claimed that more than 1.5 million citizens in the country are set to benefit from a series of infrastructure improvements.</p><p class="bodytext">As much as $300 million has been set aside to improve services in a number of key areas, including: improvements to the drain system, improvements to urban roads and other infrastructure improvements.</p><p class="bodytext">&quot;The greater Nairobi metropolitan region is already home to 17 per cent of the country&#39;s population and migration to the region is continuing at a rapid pace,&quot; Johannes Zutt, the Country Director for Kenya, told the World Bank website.</p><p class="bodytext">&quot;But, the metropolitan region has large unmet needs for infrastructure and services, with demand for services growing far more rapidly than supply.&quot;</p><p class="bodytext">Nairobi is already recognised as the economic hub of east Africa and the government hopes that the proposed infrastructure improvement will help to boost the city&#39;s standing even further.</p><p class="bodytext">The World Bank is helping to support economic development in the country.</p>]]></content:encoded><pubDate>Fri, 11 May 2012 00:00:00 +0100</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
