Sub-Saharan Africa has perhaps the world’s least adequate infrastructure. In addition to being sparse, it is much more expensive than in other regions of the world.

But investment – including that from the continent itself – may change this picture significantly over the next few years, if African governments plan wisely and invest in infrastructure development.
