Project Preparation Facilities Network
ICA Launches the Project Preparation Facilities Network (PPFN)
This PPFN is a 'network' of funding facilities who have agreed to function as an alliance of funding facilities who are dedicated to sustainable infrastructure in Africa.
The PPFN was officially launched at the end of a 2-day meeting in Tunis, Tunisia on June 18th, 2014. Representatives from the European Union-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund, the IFC-Infraventure, the Development Bank of South Africa (which hosts three facilities), NEPAD Business Foundation, COMESA-PPIU, ECOWAS-PPDU, NEPAD-IPPF, PPIAF, Sustainable Energy for All, Ths from the AfDB deliberated over the establishment of PPFN and designed a work plan on the areas of cooperation and road map for the future.
The major outcomes of the meeting included:
- The establishment of a Project Preparation Facilities Network.
- Commitment to work together through the exchange of data & information, sharing case studies & best practices and,
- Sharing project pipelines [with the aim of co-financing them], and
- Advocacy for more financial resources for Project Preparation.
The PPFN is managed through the ICA and the PPFN members will be using the ICA Fund Finder tool regularly to up-date information on their funds.
The PPFN member will meet again at the 2014 ICA Annual Meeting; scheduled to take place in Cape Town South Africa in November, 2014.
