South Africa: Suzlon Energy To Secure 138 MW Wind Energy Project From Cennergi

(RTTNews.com) - Wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy Ltd. said it had been selected as the preferred supplier by Cennergi (Pty) Ltd., for a 138 MW wind energy project currently under development in South Africa.

Cennergi has chosen to use 66 of Suzlon's S97-2.1 MW turbines for the project, located in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. If definitive agreements are reached, Suzlon will deliver the turbines under a full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement.

It it goes ahead, project construction is expected to commence towards 2013.

Suzlon Group Chairman Tulsi Tanti said, "South Africa is very committed to its target of installing 8,400 M of wind energy by 2030. We are very encouraged by the consistent work being done for the sector and look forward to making significant contribution towards this target.
